It’s not uncommon to feel _______ (fill in the blank), and that’s okay. Why would I want my pictures taken when I look and feel this way?

Embracing your pregnancy body is a beautiful journey that many women experience, and it's important to recognize that your body is doing something remarkable. Each change is a testament to the life growing inside you. Not to mention, not everyone woman will experience this incredible journey.

Start by surrounding yourself with positivity. Dress in comfortable clothing that makes you feel good, whether that’s soft fabrics or styles that highlight your favorite features. Focus on the beauty of your curves and the glow of your skin; this is a time to celebrate your body’s transformation. Plus it’s a reason to go on a retail-therapy session.

There is no time like the present

Document this unique time with photos if you feel comfortable. Capture the changes and milestones, celebrating your pregnancy journey. Many find it empowering to see their own beauty reflected back in images.

“Everything grows rounder and wider and weirder, and I sit here in the middle of it all and wonder who in the world you will turn out to be.” - Carrie Fisher

Everything about this pregnancy represents love.

Remember, your body may look different, but it carries the beautiful responsibility of nurturing new life. Embrace this chapter with love and appreciation for the incredible strength and beauty that is you.

Is it better to have my maternity photos taken in a studio?

Every pregnancy is different and for some they might be able to climb a mountain, while others might be bedridden. A scenic location might be fine for the aforementioned but not for the latter. Whereas, a studio shoot is beneficial to both pregnancy types.

Having your maternity photos in a studio means that the most walking you’ll do will be from your vehicle to the studio. Personally for me, and I’m not pregnant, but this is a huge win. Secondly, a studio lends more time to allow for breaks without taking away from the shoot time. Opposed to being on a strict time schedule hiking to a specific location and back to your car before sun down or an unexpected rain cloud. Speaking of weather. In addition most studios will protect you from all the elements like wind, rain, blistering sun or the brisk coldness of the winter air. You’ll also limit your exposure to potentially unsafe conditions like steep hiking trails or slippery rocks on the shore.

Lastly, having your photos taken in a studio allows you to have multiple outfit changes. Or, it also lends the opportunity to get a little more risqué and show more of your lovely transformation.

All in all, don’t regret passing on documenting this magical period of time. Contact me to begin the booking process for your life changing journey.
